Ski Run Road Challenge is a 20K (solo or relay) uphill run on a paved road (Hwy 532) in Ruidoso located in the beautiful Sacramento mountains, SE New Mexico. The run will finish at the Ski Apache plaza. This event is santioned by USATF. The race will benefitt the Ski Apache Disabled Skier Program.
TimesRace starts 8 a.m. sharp at Eagle Creek Sports Complex.
Relay buses provided by Lincoln County Tours will leave at 7.30 a.m sharp, to drop off relay runners at MM3.5, MM6 & MM9.5.
Age GroupsMale & Female : 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
Relay teams is open category (any age or sex)
AwardsThe first 3 overall male & female individual finishers will receive a pair of New Balance shoes and a carved Ruidoso bear. Awards to first, second and third male & female in each age group will be at the discretion of the race director.
Members of the first place relay team each receive a carved Ruidoso bear. Awards for the second and third place teams will be at the discretion of the race director. (No duplicate awards).
T-shirts & FoodAll preregistered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt with their packet. We make every effort to have sufficient shirts for all participants. Great food catered by Ski Apache will be available free of charge to runners & volunteers at the finish line (Ski Apache Plaza). Guests & spectators may purchase lunch.
DirectionsNORTH: From I-25 South take exit 139, Hwy 380 east to Carrizozo then Hwy 48 to Ruidoso, turn right to Ski Run Road (#532).
SOUTH : From Las Cruces, NM take Hwy 70 NE to Alamogordo then north to Ruidoso, proceed on Hwy 48 North to Ski Run Road(#532). From El Paso, TX take Hwy 54 north to Alamogordo, NM then HWY 70 north to Ruidoso,then on Hwy 48 North to Ski Run Road (#532).
EAST: From Roswell, NM take Hwy 380 West to Ruidoso, then proceed on Hwy 48, North of Ruidoso to Ski Run Road (#532).
